Two bodies

Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu’s Sankirtana movements practically bring the spiritual planes into the so-called material worlds . A transformational process sees a material consciousness becoming spiritualized . Srila Visvanatha Cakravati Thakur says that the living being having contacted the Spiritual Sankirtana movements begins to develop a spiritual body , so two bodies , one superseding the other . This aligns beautifully with the core theology of Gaudiya Vaishnavism. Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura and other foundational ācāryas explicitly outline how contacting or surrendering to Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu awakens the soul’s original, eternal identity (siddha-deha or svarūpa).

In Gaudiya Vaishnavism, the living being (jīva) in the material world is covered by gross and subtle material bodies. However, through the process of bhakti-yoga—especially under the guidance of a spiritual master connected to Mahāprabhu—the practitioner undergoes a transformation

The physical and mental form the devotee uses to practice regulation and chanting in this world becomes spiritualized.

The perfect, pure spiritual body composed of śuddha-sattva (pure spiritual goodness) begins to be realised by hearing, chanting, and trancendental remembrance of the name form qualities and pastimes of Krishna.

In his famous treatise Rāga-vartma-candrikā, Śrīla Viśvanātha Cakravartī Ṭhākura explains that as a devotee advances in spontaneous love (rāgānugā-bhakti), their internal, eternal spiritual form is revealed by divine grace so they can directly serve the Lord within the realms of the eternal spiritual planes and specifically Goloka Vrndavana for the Gaudiya Vaishnavas.
