Translation & Core Meaning

“O my Lord, Śrī Kṛṣṇa, son of Vasudeva, O all-pervading Personality of Godhead, I offer my respectful obeisances unto You. I meditate upon Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa because He is the Absolute Truth and the primeval cause of all causes of the creation, sustenance, and destruction of the manifested universes. He is directly and indirectly conscious of all manifestations, and He is independent because there is no other cause beyond Him. It is He only who first imparted Vedic knowledge unto the heart of Brahmājī. Even the great sages and demigods are placed into illusion by Him,u just as one is misled by water seen in fire, or land seen on water. Only because of Him do the material universes, temporarily manifested by the reactions of the three modes of nature, appear factual, although they are unreal. I therefore meditate upon Him, Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, who is eternally existent in His transcendental abode, which is forever free from the illusions of the material world.”

Srimad Bhagavatam 1.1.1.

The sciences of Krishna consciousness along with all its complexity and simplicity are highlighted here in this opening sloka of the Srimad Bhagavatam. Ever one of the sciences is touched upon and further explained within the Srimad Bhagavatam. Once one thing is known, everything can be known. The systematic processes of knowledge have been highlighted by Lord Krishna in His Bhagavad Gita including the processes of Karma yoga,  jnana yoga,  niskama karma yoga, astanga yoga and the means to understand everything clearly is to add Bhakti. Bhakti means the devotional processes of developing love for God .This love of God is inherant within the heart , everything is God , so directly or indirectly love is there , the cat loves its kittens for instance,  the bird loves its chick’s,  the ferocious lion loves its cubs .

The modern sciences are very useful in the sense they highlight the 1.1.1 text , if there is God , he leaves His mark,  the fingerprints of Lord Krishna and His design and workings are within the microbial world and in the workings of the multidimensional universes.

As Sir Fred Hoyle aptly said that someone has monkeyed with the universe..

Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada has explained everything within his Bhagavatam writings .
