We could perhaps say Lord Balarama has taken on a burden of love , three-quarters of the spiritual kingdoms are full of Nitya siddha devotees, the balance is the multidimensional material planes and universes where we reside . Lord Balarama, who has expanded Himself for increasing Krishna’s pleasure happily and blissfully, takes up the task of lovingly guiding those who have attempted to find love outside of Krishna. Unless the living beings love God they remain unfulfilled and frustrated to different degrees and are captured by the illusory energies that provide unlimited alternatives in 8,400,000 different formats, but within each format there are innumerable ethereal formats of subtle thinking and fake independence.
“Brahmāṇḍa bhramite kona bhāgyavān jīva, guru-kṛṣṇa-prasāde pāya bhakti-latā-bīja” [1]
Literal Meaning of Each Word:
- Brahmāṇḍa – Throughout the entire universe / material world
- Bhramite – Wandering or transmigrating from one life form to another
- Kona – Some specific, rare
- Bhāgyavān – Most fortunate
- Jīva – Living entity / soul
- Guru – The spiritual master
- Kṛṣṇa – Lord Krishna
- Prasāde – By the mercy of
- Pāya – Obtains or receives
- Bhakti-latā-bīja – The seed of the creeper of devotional service [1, 2]
Understanding the Meaning
According to their past karma, countless living entities (jīvas) are wandering and trapped in a continuous cycle of birth and death across millions of planetary systems in the universe (brahmāṇḍa).
Out of all these millions of wandering souls, one very fortunate person gets the opportunity to connect with a true spiritual master (guru) by the grace of Lord Krishna. By the combined, absolute mercy of both the Guru and Krishna, that fortunate soul receives the seed of pure devotion (bhakti-latā-bīja) to escape material life and return to the spiritual world.
