It is difficult to understand the mind of a pure devotee.

Srila Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Goswami Maharaja and Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur externally were seen to “court” the British rulers of India , and in Srila Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Goswami Maharaja’s case , he  heavily criticised displays of external “Vedic cultures “,  which many other persons and established religious leaders saw as glorious . So much so that sometimes violence was displayed towards Srila Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Goswami . Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur was seen as more conciliatory and viewed any religion with appreciation. However in Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur’s litratures every thing is put into perspective.

The many purposes and missions of the Gaudia Vaisnava acaryas differ, and each has particular purposes by the arrangements of Krishna.  Krishna Himself was seen to run away from an enemy .At times, he let enemies flee so they could re group. In the Vrndavana lila everything is turned upside down when it comes to establishment of family traditions,  although family traditions are also on full display.

  • Jarasandha’s Attacks: Jarasandha attacked Mathura 17 times to avenge the death of his son-in-law, Kamsa. Krishna could have killed him in the first battle but He let Jarasanda regroup time and time again , for His own reasons
  • Strategic Withdrawal: To prevent endless destruction and protect the Yadava people from continuous warfare, Krishna chose not to fight him on the 18th attack, instead leading his people to build the safe, fortified city of Dwarka.
  • Kalayavana’s Defeat: Krishna also drew the relentless pursuer Kalayavana into a dark cave, where a sleeping king named Muchukunda accidentally woke up and burned Kalayavana to ashes with a single glance.
  • Meaning of Rancor  “Ran” means battlefield, and “Chhod” means to leave. While opponents mockingly called Krishna a coward, devotees view the name as a title honoring his wisdom in putting the safety of his people above personal pride.
  • The position of ladies within Vedic and religious cultures is misunderstood .Srila Visvanatha Cakravati Thakur gives a hint .Ladies are extremely powerful and keep their powers hidden,  that’s what makes them powerful. Srila Visvanatha Cakravati Thakur sites the example of a beautiful covered women,  her real beauty is covered , similarly her wisdom and leadership qualities are not on immediate show , but are there and extremely valuable. In Western cultures women are encouraged to undo their covering display themselves fully and as much as possible and be as verbally strong as egotistical men , in doing these things , their real potential is lost .
  • The movements of spirituality are sometimes difficult to work out , but many unknown purposes are played out and they are not always understood initially but at a later date .
  • Once Srila Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Goswami Maharaja said we worship Krishna because Radharani wants us to .While others worship Radharani because She is Krishna’s favourite .
  • When Srila BR Sridhar first heard of this understanding as a young devotee , he was puzzled , but later what His Guru Maharaja said became clear to him .
