The moon is behind the clouds, but by the light of the moon, the clouds can be seen .

Pure consciousness is covered by the subtle and gross material body , but still , by the effects of a consciousness that incorporates ones intelligence, one’s mind , and one’s  senses,   if it has been contacted or is being enlightened with the divine potency , that of the spiritual cit sakti ,  then the workings of the pure mind , pure intelligence and purified senses come into play , and the original pure consciousness can be understood . Krishna can enable the living being to use so-called matter as spirit .. Take an iron bar and put it in far it acts like fire , touch it, and you will know .

The Srimad Bhagavatam says 1.5.11

On the other hand, that literature which is full of descriptions of the transcendental glories of the name, fame, forms, pastimes, etc., of the unlimited Supreme Lord is a different creation, full of transcendental words directed toward bringing about a revolution in the impious lives of this world’s misdirected civilization. Such transcendental literatures, even though imperfectly composed, are heard, sung and accepted by purified men who are thoroughly honest.

It is a qualification of the great thinkers to pick up the best even from the worst. It is said that the intelligent man should pick up nectar from a stock of poison and should accept gold even from a filthy place ….end ..

Thus, the question…. Can God be understood through material words ,or sounds,  or music.

The answer is yes , He is present when messaging is directed to Him in attempts to understand Him . He can enter into our consciousness to help us understand Him further and further.  With pure intelligence, He is understood. In the Bhagavad Gita Krishna says “

To those who are constantly devoted and worship with love, God gives the inner intelligence by which they come to Him. This line comes from the Bhagavad Gita As It Is, 10.10. .

Thus, trancendental sounds are pure , as are any name of God .Equally , hymns, songs , or prayers that are genuinely glorifying God bring  purification to the listening ear and ultimately a fully purified  heart .

God or Krishna is the most expert communicator,  any one coming in touch with His communication either knowingly or unknowingly reaps the trancendental rewards. Sound is the original source of matter , “Let there be light ” or sound immediately takes one out of matter .
