Knowledge means knowing everything side by side . The Vedic term is Vidya and Avidya …Both are divine energies of Divinity.
Truth is essentially and easily understood by the truthful. Suspicions and doubts are cleared by sincere searching for truth , truth will always out , but not for the crooked , who cannot accept truth .
Self-evident scientific truths are clearly seen in the world around us and are easily understood and accepted by the truthful.
As Nyaya logic says.
When smoke is seen in a distant hill, you know there is fire ..
Although Srila Jiva Goswami in his Tattva Sandarbha says , the fire may have gone out ,or it might be some kind of mist from a murkey lake , so ultimately if you really want to know the answer about the smoke then ask someone who knows who has witnessed the truth of the situation and who is trusted .
This Sam Harris gentleman and the like , can never ask about absolute truth from the truthful and will never accept the answers , he is not really looking for truth , which is manifested in everything around him . Dna coding and the origins of information are like the smoke ….it tells us something of something. Sophisticated codes have their source in the Sophisticated, and the sophistication takes us to inexplicable levels .
But maya , or the illusory energies within the subtle ethereal planes , must allow free will and determinism , thus the atheistic , like Sam , are forever satisfied in the unlimited supply of illusions of all kinds and the truth seeker easily sees and feels truth at every second.
