Lifestyles and worldviews are lived out and followed scientifically , philosophically , or theologically by following others’ thinking or lifestyle. What one influential person says or does others  persons follow or begin to think in the same way .

The most important consideration should be , is their thinking correct or their  lifestyle beneficial for  individuals or societies .  Other persons’ wrong thinking or harmful lifestyle and philosophies are seen in historical terms the cause of many many world problems.

Thus, the root of thinking and lifestyles should be examined,  who is causing us to think and act the way we do .

Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita

Bg. 3.21

यद्यदाचरति श्रेष्ठस्तत्तदेवेतरो जनः ।
स यत्प्रमाणं कुरुते लोकस्तदनुवर्तते ॥ २१ ॥

yad yad ācarati śreṣṭhas
tat tad evetaro janaḥ
sa yat pramāṇaṁ kurute
lokas tad anuvartate

Translation

Whatever action a great man performs, common men follow. And whatever standards he sets by exemplary acts, all the world pursues.

The question should be who is a great man and how should we measure greatness . In Vedic culture, we measure greatness by those who follow the Vedic ideal . These come in various formats and cover all fields of knowledge and accompanying lifestyles . The Vedas is very, very broad, but we must have a reference to our thinking or actions.  Having faith in the Vedas and its authority is the essential beginning . If one does not have faith in the Vedas , then where is ones faith placed ? in others ? But why ? In ones own speculations? But why ?

Currently, we live in a world where scientific materialism and the Darwinian hypothesis is accepted as an authority. These two modes of thinking influence peoples acting and psychological thinking . The world veiw of modern man and the activities he carries out are not based on his own thinking or his own world view,  but on the world view of others .

Ultimately, having the Vedic ideal as the basis of life and following its standards , aspirations, and goals that are  based on self-evident truths is a firm, realistic, and scientific base to live . One simple example is the equality of consciousness , and naturally , the rights of all beings to live with the required facilities they need .That is far superior and  based on objective science , as opposed to  the subjective minds of a Darwinian or a follower of scientific materialism who base their thinking on complete atheistic philosophy with no explanations of consciousness ,  and that does not teach self evident truths of its equality within all beings . Rather , they teach the survival of the fittest or encourage those with the  most greed , a philosophy with accompanied economics ,  from which trickle down , never trickles down , but stays in one place , within financial institutions , and where encroachments of others rights are the norm . The  Darwinians base their lifestyle on guessing sciences that teach everyone comes to the world by the random chance events of atoms , elements, and compounds accidentally colliding , and after death, everything is finished .They indoctrinate everyone to think our consciousness came about by  chance and is lost forever at death . This world veiw is taught and has influenced the modern world. Darwinian hypothesis and scientific materialism are combined , and it gives an excuse for the way the world  is today and how we live in it and act with others . Equally theological cultures that lack scientific realisations of the sciences of consciousness are influencing others to think and act incorrectly . Heaven or hell preaching , or thinking that the consciousness within animals is not akin to our consciousness,  or does not have equally the  right to exist, is all incorrect theological truth . Someone somewhere in those theological cultures has given  interpretations that are not following the original texts , as such, the original text should be reestablished .

So we should have reference points to our thinking , actions, and philisophical outlooks , and we must know of their qualities and if they are authentic and based on the truth or  dishonesty and speculations. Even if we can’t live perfectly,  at least know where perfection is to be found and the orientation of our life has solid grounds based on the Vedas , Veda means knowledge,  the Vedas is the breathing and direction of Visnu
