Child care iskcon
.This is currently being undertaken, and it’s one step up from the previous operations of ISKCON child care. because when independence is in place, that’s healthy for an organisation , no society should investigate itself . Independent professionals will be an improvement, particularly when professionals who are being used are mandated themselves to call in local agencies and the police on hearing of suspicious circumstances immediately.
Gbc statement
What is meant by external
case investigations and what
will be the applicable legal
standard?
Historically, child abuse cases were investigated internally by ISKCON devotees. Despite the
professionalism and best efforts, the fairness of the investigation process was often contested.
In keeping with good governance and to guarantee a professional, impartial, and authoritative
investigation, the new model proposes that all future cases be investigated by professionals outside
of ISKCON. Thus, external investigators are outside independent professionals who carry indemnity
and are certified by secular and government authorities. They are highly trained professionals. Their
investigations are free of any ISKCON influence. That said, the hiring of outside investigators does not
mean that secular legal standards will be necessarily employed. To the contrary, as prescribed by the CPO
Guidelines, the standards applied will be that of preponderance of the evidence – in lieu of proof beyond
reasonable doubt.

“A child protection officer must contact social services and the police immediately upon hearing any accusation or disclosure of child abuse if there is an immediate risk of harm, a crime is believed to have been committed, or the child requires emergency medical treatment.

Call Children’s Services (Social Care) Immediately - Disclosure or Suspicions of Abuse: When there is reasonable cause to suspect a child is suffering or is at risk of suffering “significant harm” in the form of physical, sexual, emotional abuse, or neglect.
- No Immediate Danger but Serious Risk: Even if the child isn’t in life-or-death danger this second (e.g., historical disclosures of abuse or chronic neglect), the officer must still make a formal referral to the local authority’s social care team. Social services must then make an assessment within 24 hours.
Multi-Agency Action
When safeguarding concerns reach the threshold of “significant harm,” both agencies will launch a joint Section 47 Enquiry to investigate and determine how to protect the child.”
Also ..india have the same standard.
, under Indian law, designated child care and child protection officers are legally mandated to report suspected crimes against children to the police. The specific reporting requirements depend on the law under which the crime falls:1. Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO), 2012Under Section 19 of the POCSO Act, any person (which includes child care officers, social workers, and institutional heads) who has the knowledge or apprehension that a child has been abused or is a victim of a crime must report the incident to the police or a Special Juvenile Police Unit. - It goes without saying that professionals have the legal obligation to immediately inform the police…
