In analysing Srila Prabhupada’s ISKCON movement, we can see many options and paths opening or open . The conversations Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu had with Ramananda Roy bring clarity to what’s going on .
Starting from the Varna Ashram duties , which are somewhat progressive , but then giving some of the results of them to krishna , then moving forward giving up Varna Ashram pe say as an ultimate duty by analysing and understanding its credits and faults , and then moving forward , start to do all activities and everything for Krishna’s sake , connecting all material activities for His satisfaction , then moving forward, acquiring knowledge with jnana and realising scientific self realisation of the soul as consciousness seperate from the body with brahman realisations , then moving forward , hearing from a pure devotee directly , studying the Srimad Bhagavatam , chanting the holy names and engagement in services under the direction of the Guru and advancing further in knowledge of Sadhana bhakti …..Srila Prabhupada by- passed the previous methods mentioned and immediately brought western devotees to this stage . Some devotees lasted the course , and some fell back into previous stages, but the previous stages are one up from where the Western devotees were, and there was no loss for them at all .
Then next stage , is becoming extremely fixed up and steady in services and learning to be an dedicated servant and from there the natural greed occures , a greed and inquisitiveness to delve deeper and deeper into the ocean of blissful spiritual life . Becoming a good steady servant is the essential element before being able to approach the futher aspects in Mahāprabhu’s conversations , those that speak of how being a good servant leads to friendship with Krishna , or parenthood of Krishna or intimate friends and lovers of Krishna , lovers or friends of many kinds in the spiritual realms that are culminating in the glorious position of Srimati Radharani in Goloka Vrndavana.
The writings of all the Gaudia Vaisnava acaryas who have been accepted by our disciplic successions headed by Srila Rupa Goswami, Srila Ragganatha das Goswami , Srila Jiva Goswami and Srila Sanantana Goswami , those that Srila Prabhupada, Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Goswami and Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur have shown should be referenced and carefully studied with devotion , only by the grace of all our acaryas can we understanding the conclusions of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu’s conversation with Ramananda Roy and understand why they took place .
