Srila Bhaktisiddanta Sarasvati Goswami Maharaja would say our duty is to satisfy the emaculate senses of Krishna.
Krishna is the supreme enjoyer and the jiva , the living entitles are the enjoyed , but as Srila Sridhar Swami often said better be a slave in heaven than a master of hell .
Actually, of course, in spiritual life, Krishna is not some kind of slave driver , rather, He wants to share His blissful nature with everyone , we should not be envious of His extraordinary presence and the fact that He is all attractive , but assist him volunteering ourselves eternally .
This is not a business arrangement , Krishna can do as He likes , He may or may not accept us , but if we approach the residents of Vrndavana and learn to please Him under their tutelage we have a good chance to be accepted , ultimately the Supreme Goddess of fortune Srimati Radharani is the Queen of Vrndavana and either directly or indirectly every thing is assisting in Her activities to please Krishna.
hṛṣīkeṇa hṛṣīkeśa- sevanaṁ bhaktir ucyate
Our senses are on loan , their real purposes are only realised in pure devotion, Srila Rupa Goswami says in His Ujjvala Nilamani , one’s sthayi Bhava , one’s original attraction to Krishna , are motivated by spiritual sound , touch , form , taste , and fragrances of all that goes on in the Spiritual realms.
Everything begins with sound , spiritual sound , of Chanting the Names of God .
Neither karma or expert performance of it , as in perfect Varna Ashram activities, or developments of strong accademic jnana are the essential ingredients for Bhakti Bliss and realised knowledge of Divinity , rather those qualities automatically accompany the Bhakti process and a heart if melted . Karma alone and its benefits without Bhakti brings great pride and a strong academic approach to Bhakti through the jnana process minus the bhakti makes one hard hearted .Bhakti is bliss and is independent and causeless , although it’s situated in the heart of the devotee .
The principle of Bhakti as given by Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu is first Bhakti is installed in the heart by association by one who has it in his or her heart , then the tendency for Karma and jnana that would ordinarily delay the development of devotion are superceded by this Bhakti and gradually purified . Krishna being kind immediately accepts our Bhakti, even though initially full of faults, these superficial faults are overlooked as much as parents adore the broken and imperfect speech of a young child . In this way also the principle of being forgiving of others as we are of forgiving ourselves can be incorporated .
The Krishna of Gaudia Vaisnavism who is situated in Vraja cannot be understood outside of Gaudia Vaisnavism, specifically Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu , and at the same time the Gaudia Vaisnava understands Krishna in Mathura, in Dwarka , in Vaikuntha and all the ” functional ” forms who facilitate the conditioned souls or those liberated in the spiritual light of Brahman.
In the sacred Srimad Bhagavatam there are many occasions where conflicts come about for one reason or another , Druva Maharaja , when revenging the death of his brother comes to mind , or the followers of Lord Siva revenging the death of his wife Sati is another . But another lesson is taught that anger and killing do no good for anyone’s real interests, even if it feels just . Thus frequently, we see the leading lights of the Bhagavatam issuing good council to both of the conflicted parties . Some times inevitably wars and conflicts arise , generally, its origins are driven by ill motives . Correcting ill motives and addressing matters so anger can be eradicated from any calculations , both for the sake of enemy and friends is the real business of the intelligentsia . When Krishna came to this world 5000 years ago , He was accompanied by His associates, those who are eternally present with Him during His eternally manifest blissful Vrndavana pastimes . An unfolding takes place even within this material realm of the sweetness of those spiritual relationships , and the spiritual dimension decends .
Some of those particular personalities are Nitya siddha devotees ( eternally liberated ) and some well developed Sadhana siddha devotees . ( aspiring for liberation) As such, some of the gopies were stopped from joining the Rasa dance by their relatives, this was because of their needing very slight and further purification , although they were extremely advanced Sadhana siddha devotees .(well practiced). When Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu came 500 years ago He is also accompanied by both types of devotees , eternally liberated and learning to be so . This Sankirtana lila instigated by Mahāprabhu is still taking place today .Those Sadhana siddha devotees are increasing day by day , and each of them are gradually developing an understanding of Tattva as well as developing pure Bhakti in love , along with understandings of spiritual Rasa in all their forms . Srila Visvanatha Cakravati Thakur says our actions dedicated to Krishna and our knowledge of Krishna are like the two sides of a trancendental sandwich , with love or pure Bhakti at its centre . Bhakti or love is essential , and gaining knowledge or by doing work alone won’t necessarily command love to appear. Time in reality is an allocated period given to conscious beings who temporarily reside in a particular body for a given length of time . This time period is determined not only by physical laws of nature but also by unseen laws operating beyond the comprehension of scientific communities . Nobody has a clue, for instance, why the laws of time are affecting different species at different rates .
Nature originates from Krishna or Visnu ,according to the Vedas , every species of life or person is under specific strict time allocation . Scientists know quite a lot about the presence of all kinds of laws ,some they understand well others not so well , but we can safely say they cannot fathom the origins of these laws of why they hold firmly in place consistently. The Darwinians and scientific materialism speculators presume such events in nature are happening by somehow random chance events that began sometime in a distance past ,. But the obvious question is , in our experience laws and set order comes by design and intelligence. Thus it seems logical that the order and laws of the universal affairs may have a specific source . The Darwinian alternative that somehow or other these perfect laws of material nature formed and mysteriously maintain themselves seems absurd in real terms . Many prominent scientists, rebel against the concept of chance events being the ultimate cause , like Sir Fred Hoyle for instance , who could see clearly that the laws of nature are finely tuned , with perfect amounts of atoms and compound to make life possible , he was puzzled by the availability of so much carbon , which is essential for life , and why there should be so much of it in the universe , compared to other elements.
Law means lawmaker , that’s logic , and the Vedas give details of the fundermental principles of material nature, which incorporate the atomic and ethereal plane of existence , and it indicates its our minds and consciousness that are forced to identify with it and respond to it . In regards to how someone may know the details of the laws of time allocation, the head of this universe Bramha has inconceivable intelligence ,which has been alloted to him. As much as Einstein, Schrödinger or Bohr have inconceivable intelligence compared to the common man .
So Lord Bramha , the allocated engineer of this universe, transmits knowledge of all his scientific works to Narada Muni. He is no ordinary person , he was the Guru of Vyasadeva ,who was no ordinary person . He was the Guru of Sukadeva Goswami , who was no ordinary person , but the speaker of the Bhagavatam ..so one can say the origins of the knowledge of the Vedas and the universe are coming from beings and personalities beyond it . Divinity Himself is one and different from His material energies.
So, the science contained in summary form in the Bhagavatam stems ultimately from the engineer of universal affairs , and Lord Bramha transmits such knowledge to those that need to know and who have pure senses . Bramha was given the intelligence to carry out his work of creation and laying the foundations of the physical and subtle laws by Visnu Himself.
The universe is certainly most puzzling to the science community. The more they study it , the more complex it becomes , this includes the science of time, its inconceivable nature , and so as before said scientists do not understand why time works the way it does , as much as they cannot produce rna in the laboratory to 100 % purity , the way nature makes it , only 1% purity has been achieved in a laboratory setting . The Vedic system is to accept pure knowledge from the pure sound of the supreme intelligentsia. The origin of this pure knowledge is Lord Bramha, and as much as everyone is accepting knowledge from intelligent men and women , people like Richard Feynman , Einstein , Bohr , Schrödinger , Teller etc etc . so why not Lord Bramha ? And the persons he transmitted it to.
The very best scientist always say they know very little of the real details of the universe and its functioning. Unfortunately, some scientists will make bold declarations . Like the immature Darwinians who assume Darwinian evolutionary theory is fact based science Real scientific thinkers know it’s not . it’s at most a hypothesis .
Abiogenisis, how can chemicals perfectly form and all come together to form the molecules essential for cellular life ?
Ask a synthetic chemist how difficult it to conduct synthetic chemistry, chemical combinations don’t just throw themselves together , perfect and precise careful processes are involved , heating , cooling , evaporation of impurities , to name but a few of the procedures . If they are not followed or brought to 100% purity, the synthetic chemistry and materials fall apart .
With that in mind, before any evolutionary process could begin, first the chemicals forming the molecular structures of the cells had be in place to form the amino acids , carbohydrates, nucleotides, and lipids . The process of chemistry , how chemicals combined so precisely , according to a Darwinian ,by chance random events , on an early earth , is not , in reality ,at all understood . Although the subjective Darwinian narrative promoting their scientific propaganda to the public , give the false impressions, chemical evolution is clear-cut objective science . This, in reality, is cheating science. Of course , truth is they are clueless , they do not know the relevant processes of how everything began , nor can they in their laboratories from scratch imitate the process . It requires extremely hard and complex chemistry to do synthetic chemistry , and on an early earth there were no laboratories where you could go and buy starting materials which could form the beginnings of a molecule, as synthetic chemists do today .
So, as well as trying to explain mutational math of an evolutionary process , before that could all even begin , the Darwinian has to explain how perfect chemical combinations by chance just threw themselves together .
Like evolutionary theory the abiogenisis and chemical evolutionary process is unknown, so everyone is clueless.
But , as we see codes and information in dna , similarly, the molecular structures like carbohydrates, etc , store and transmit information, each of these molecules are vital for the cell. No one can say where this information comes from .
Even in the atomic world , depending on how many protons in an atom determine the element it forms , gold ,carbon, iron, etc etc, each element has a particular number of protons.
Thus, throughout the whole of life with the chemicals and elements that supports it , we find orderly systems at work , in the atomic realm , the chemical realms , and the molecular realm , as well as the DNA codes that instuct the cells to make a particular body part and which form a particular body as a whole.
Krishna in Bhagavad Gita declares in many verses that He is that person responsible and is a perfect chemical, atomic , and molecular engineer, and Lord Bramha , His chief engineer, has within his body , given by Mahavishnu , the information consisting of , as we now know , the DNA structural information for the production all bodies required for the living beings .
The enclosed universe, infinite space, and the accuracy of cosmic calculations
Many ancient cultures spoke of the universe being an enclosed unit with lower , middle, and upper planetary systems within a “shell ”, this indicates that the original cosmological knowledge of the Vedas , in former times was widely distributed and worldwide cultures were influenced by it due to extensive distribution of this type of knowledge. This was done by ancient trade routes as well as wondering mendicants , who were wondering educators, as well as exiled kings forming new kingdoms along with their following .
Outside of a universal shell , within which the upper , middle , and lower planetary systems are situated ,and many many cultures aligned with those Vedic cosmological calculations and they also demonstrated those regions were places where Divinity and His super subjective planes existed and the laws of material nature didn’t. The Greeks and later the Arabic cultures and other cultures from the South Americas all held this similar understandings , thus its evident cultures were intertwined and evidence for a much earlier concept of a global world can be thought of .
When the Roman empire conquered most of Europe, having adopted within their own cultures some aspects of Christianity , blind unscientific religious fanaticism began to develop . Some or most of the traditional Vedic ways of understanding our universe , along with a greater scientific approach to consciousness, began to decline . This unscientific, fanatical religious doctrine was imposed on the public by the use of militant and political might . Later , when the Roman empire came to an end , Christians predominanted and scientific thinking outside of the misinterpreted bible came to a complete halt . Fortunately, the old Arabic and Greek texts were still preserved in some places , Mogal empires who were taking a less dogmatic approach preserved some of the scientific traditions of thinking of our universal structures and that was essentially theological in nature . In India, of course, this Vedic cosmological remained in tact .
The Renaissance period gave a rebirth to science and shunned the early unscientific religious fanatical doctrine. A rethinking of the universal order was formed . Modern geometric systems and euclidean math became the new way of looking at life , so much so , that God was pushed right out the picture, and so was dualism .Scientific materialism was born , meaning the mind and body as a seperate unit was discouraged and not taught . The mechanistic Darwinian world had begun, scientific materialism that used math and mechanistic thinking , it placed our stars millions of miles away, and a concept of an infinite space, with no God outside of a universal shell was developed , and this was taught in educational systems. If there were a God , some thought, it’s probably an impersonal energy . The idea of a separate mind to matter was written off because the mind could not be measured , and math could not be applied .
Measurements of the distance of planets in a multidimensional space, as spoken about by Lisa Randall, the Harvard Prof, may not be so easy to calculate . The laws of physics are said in the Vedas to operate differently in different parts of the universe, so what is far is near ,what is near is far in a multidimensional universe.
The traditional and ancient cultures, along with their sciences, should not be so hastily discarded or rubbished and replaced by scientific materialism , which in itself is an uncalibrated dogma . Scientific materialism can not account for a mind , but rather believe it to only be simple neurons firing in a mechanistic mathematical brain . These events are all supposedly happening by chance in a chance universe . This mechanistic veiw could be said to be ludicrously absurd , and discards the notion of the intelligence and obvious design in just about everything we see . Also, it ignores the perfect math in nature , where there is perfect mathematics you can bet your bottom dollar there is a perfect mathematician behind it .
Albert Einstein found it very difficult to accept that what one part of the universe was doing could affect another part billions of miles away simultaneously , spooky action at a distance he called it .
But in the Vedic understanding of the universe all energies are emanating from one conscious source, that Krishna is directly and indirectly conscious of all living beings , and also situated in every atom simultaneously is recorded , another Vedic term is the all prevading Brahman energies . Just as you know what one part of your body does and how it affects other parts , so the great incalculable expansions of the universal form of Divinity are His conscious energies. He is equally conscious of the workings of the classical , atomic quantum , and ethereal planes along with their various actions and reactions , the repercussions which ripple throughout the universe, as the endless possibilities of karmic synchronicities play out . This Vedic reality is defined as the brahman , the oneness, and the innumerable differences that occur in all things , at all times and in all places throughout not just this universe but many many thousands of others.
So many of us spend our time fighting for justice or fighting to show injustices or arguing about what we regard as truth and pointing out deceitful and underhand behaviour But we , the Vedas say , have to remember that there is unity in diversity on one level ,and at the same time, a material world has many, many complex reasons for coming into being , somehow karmic synchronicities must play out but ultimately justice is always an over riding principle as well as arranging for learning proccess for everyone. On a trancendental level, all discord is harmonized in the absolute as Srila Bhakti Rakshak Sridhar Swami would say , we can say not only the spiritual planes but to a degree within the material world.
Ultimately, there is the underlying principle of an absolute truth and a supreme autocrat. The supreme autocrat is the origins of truth , justice, and mercy , as well as the all-important principle of mercy above justice, essential for liberation and freedom. Those who can not understand this unity in diversity on multiple levels spend their entire time in ignorance, like fighting monkeys or dogs, as they desperately try to establish artificial supremacy.
The Bhagavad Gita was spoken on a battlefield. “Beam me up, Scotti.” Famously expressed by Captain Kirk whilst on a planet and awaiting transportation back to the star ship Enterprise hovering in space It’s, of course, actually based on contrived scientific materialism , that we are simply combinations of atoms and it would be possible at will to break them down move them in a light beam and then reconstitute them in perfect order in another place , certainly matter could be thought of in that , but our consciousness? The vedic understanding of dualism must be understood : is consciousness neurons firing in a brain or something more mysterious? Factually, according to the Vedas , our consciousness has the ability to transport itself instantly to destinations in many other planets and destinations , in fact, death means just that . The gross external body is left behind , and it is made of atoms , elements , and compounds . But even before death by training oneself in astanga yoga , the consciousness can travel in a different type of body instantaneously, whilst the gross body remains where it is , only to be entered into on return. This feeling may be somewhat familiar because in dreams one is lifted out the body, the body is totally forgotten , some people feel themselves ascending or decending from their bodies.
The Darwinians and those who profess to understand life are subjective thinkers , in reality, they are clueless about consciousness, that is a fact .
