Alas for those who spend their days
In festive mirth and joy.
The dazzling, deadly, liquid forms
Their hearts fore’er employ.

These are the words of a poem by Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur, a great teacher of Gaudia Vaisnavism,  and the author of many books and other  poems.

What does He mean ?

Lord Krishna in His Bhagavad Gita gives the answer.

daivī hy eṣā guṇa-mayī
mama māyā duratyayā
mām eva ye prapadyante
māyām etāṁ taranti te

Translation

This divine energy of Mine, consisting of the three modes of material nature, is difficult to overcome. But those who have surrendered unto Me can easily cross beyond it.

To become free from the influences of the material body along with its mind and senses is almost impossible,  like trying to stop the raging wind .

God consciousness, Krishna consciousness means the gain the power to stop the influences of the material energies . This can never be done by an artificial process but only by a  genuine process , so  not an  artificial process,  not a partial process or a pretentious process for external show , but  rather a process whereby the heart is purified and no material desires remain .

Krishna indicates in His Bhagavad Gita how .

He says only by experiencing a higher taste will the lower tastes  be given up automatically,  that’s a rational and logical statement,  just think about it .

Automatically, you give up your pennies and accept pounds .

The process of giving up the dazzling deadly liquid forms is by twofold , namely by  knowledge and renounciation . When one tastes by grace, spiritual knowledge automatically renounciation from birth,  death, old age, and disease takes place within the heart .

In India, the hogs like to eat fresh stool if you offer him sweets, he refuses,  and goes back to eating  stool.

The strong pull of the illusions of  identifying with the body can get out of hand and  ruin a person. Everyone should seek protection from what the Christian calls the Devils influence,  but don’t blame the devil, blame yourself,  and  seek help .

What did Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur mean …

“Forget the past that sleeps and ne’er The future dream at all, But act in times that are with thee And progress thee shall call.”

Are we to simply enjoy the moment without thinking about any of the consequences of our actions are we not supposed to contemplate and regret some aspects of our past .

In Jiva Goswami’s Bhagavat Sandarbha, he speaks of understanding brahman the peace within , inherently the quality of everybody’s consciousness . Understanding the inner consciousness and its natural peaceful state , which is easily disturbed by my excess and unfettered materialism driven by hankering or lamenting due to the fleeting time period that always changes and needs avoiding.
The process of Krishna consciousness as given by Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu very quickly brings one to peace and sanity. Thus, living in the moment in Brahman consciousness , that is progressively moving to an understanding that Divinity is in everything and we are part of that everything . Ultimately as our consciousness is fixed , we exchange our individual consciousness with the supreme sweetness of Divinity.

Some persons find it impossible to accept that one supreme consciousness could be responsible for all that is going on in this world or in the universe.
But delegation and supreme intelligence is evident even in our experience, 99.9999999999999% have not a clue how it is taking place or could make it happen from scratch .

“Something that trillions of people could use simultaneously would be a global phenomenon like the internet or perhaps a highly popular form of communication like social media or mobile phones. These technologies have widespread adoption and allow for massive numbers of users to access and engage with them concurrently. “

Bhagavad Gita gives details of how Divinity does what He does , which is further elaborated upon in the Srimad Bhagavatam .
Only the unthinking could accept the lazy mans chance event. Darwinion hodge podge , called subjective and speculative hypothesis , the objectively seen scientific evidence tells a different story.

There is our free will and there are God’s intelligent recommendations..

Democracy means free will

But one should know that Divinity gives many indications of what the duties of a leader are and what qualities they must possess . If we follow them we’re wise , if we don’t we are exercising our free will . An educated opinion is worth following. An uneducated opinion can lead to all sorts of miscalculation.
Take a look around the world today and tell me that everything socio-economic, sociopolitical and any scientifically driven enquiries or calculations have been arrived at by an intelligentsia who have actual educated opinions, that stem from an understanding of mind , matter. and consciousness development that will bring happiness, prosperity, and progression for everyone .
The Vedic societies give that sort of guarantee and have the methods based on educated opinions and specific qualities of a person that fit a specific task and which can knit society together perfectly .

These Vedic calculations are always based on Sabda Brahman pure truthful sound . In life, we find truthful sounds and deceitful sounds , we must know the difference .

Progressive steps and the bone fide paths .

The Srimad Bhagavatam reinforces the importance of recognizing bone fide theological texts from all religious cultures that  distinguish reality from illusion for the welfare of all beings . This recognition is based on consciousness development and not  on  the unnecessary extravagance of satisfying an  unbridled mind and senses . Every theological text will place an  emphasis on regulated and disciplined lives  , humans are not sophisticated animals, and ultra liberalism is condemned . Unbridled senses lead to greater anxiety and entanglements , and so the Vedas    recognize  every theological text that  pursues and teaches  these controls and regulations  .  This guidance and its methods are explained through  karma yoga , jnana yoga ,   and astanga yoga . In other words, through  1, good works linked to recognised pious activities , 2 . Seeking knowledge  through science and understanding of mind , matter and consciousness , and  3 ,deep inward  religious or spiritual meditations  on God . The Bhagavatam seeks to  link  all  these processes to Bhakti or direct  devotion to Divinity . These occur  in progressive  forward steps that  benefit the individual . This truth of the Bhagavatam is specifically taught by Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu, whose hidden appearance is predicted in the 11th canto of the Bhagavatam as the incarnation for  this age . He taught that  one should study the Bhagavatam and chant the Hare Krishna Maha Mantra , or the names of God ,  which bestow all the truths of the Vedas upon  persons who can  chant without offence  to others and in great humility . It is said in many theological texts sound can bind one or liberate one , if one speaks in anger and envy one is bound in ignorance , if one speaks in peace and knowledge and compassion one can become liberated . In this way, there are incalculable  benefits when one  vibrates  trancendental sound vibrations and they have effects on the inner workings of consciousness . When one has become purified by trancendental sound , one’s  community , one’s society , one’s country , and ultimately the universal order and its originator Divinity Himself are all  immensely pleased . By such purified actions speaking truth and vibrating Gods names in a sacrifice with the aim of serving His interests  and by  studying and hearing the trancendental sounds of the  Srimad Bhagavatam life becomes perfected . Pure sound or trancendental sound is called Sabdha Brahman in the Vedas .
Thus Krishna’s advice is to approach someone who can produce such a sound . A man or woman who realises the absolute truth vibrates Sabdha Brahman . Truth comes in many formats, but here we speak of absolute truth .
So in life, we have to test someone’s character and motivation to see what kind of vibration they are capable of , some speak relative truths and are honest. Others are calculating, and yet others are deceitful.
Krishna, in His Bhagavad Gita, gives references to the above persons , one should take advantage of His words .
The vedas say .
Once a junior demigod was helping, his senior demigods defeat the demons .many battles took place, and when the junior demigod had finished his battles, he took refuge in one heavenly planet that was inhabited by pious personalities. The friends of the defeated demons wanted revenge but found it difficult to disturb the junior demigod because he was surrounded by like minded persons, so they hatched a long-term plan to defeat and kill the junior demigod, they began to spread false doctrines and speculations about the origins of purity and truth , introducing doubts and attempted to spread a new and perverse ” truth “
If we look at todays world, truth is very difficult to come by , but the Vedas say the intelligentsia are truthful , they are the Vipras and Brahminical persons . Such persons are self-reliant and live simply , they are not at all money men or politician’s . We must learn to recognise the sound of truth , but on the other hand, many of us don’t want truth , if we actually want truth we will find it , and if we want absolute truth Divinity Himself will arrange for us to receive it ..

Endless possibilities of  benedictions  offered by  Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu.

Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu the most munificent incarnation of Godhead , along with His intimate associates  , have  given incalculable benedictions to  many persons , some know it , some not , some will know it soon , some will know it later . To paraphrase Sir Winston Churchill , “never has  so much trancendence  been given by so few to so many .”  This  trancendentally unprecedented ocean  of nectarine consciousness and bliss has decended into this world and is increasing day by day , Although unseen by the overwhelming majority,  but how can they  understand Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu who is  pouring nectar on the hapless and  unfortunate souls of Kali yuga .

Through the association of His devotees , through the chanting of the Holy names , through educational programmes of  studies  of the Srimad Bhagavatam and the litratures of prominent acayas from the Gaudia Vaisnava culture  , and  through  the distribution of prasadam , Mahāprabhu’ s representatives of all kinds are  delivering something wonderful ,  representatives who represent the  Gaudia Vaisnava acaryas are busy  executing  fast acting relief work  , and the tide is turning .

Perhaps the most essential benediction for those mature students is an  access very quickly to the ultimate essence of Mahaprabhu’s teachings , Mahaprabhu has allowed everyone whether fit or unfit , to dive deep and deeper  into the ocean of bliss by absorbing themselves in the reading   or hearing of the works of  Rupa Ragganatha .These eternal associates are  intimately connected to Mahaprabhu . Srila Svarūpa Damodar , for instance, was  puzzled  as to how  Rupa Goswami could  understand the inner heart of Mahaprabhu in  his writings . But  on discussion with Mahaprabhu, he realised Srila Rupa Goswami had a  special benediction bestowed on him . That benediction is also offered  to  the  most inquisitive students of  this world , as such, they  can  also understand , but  one requires a  greed to want to know of this treasure of bliss .

AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada would say such teachings and lila descriptions are like a  sugar sweet ball , wherever you bite into it ,  its nectarine and fully relishable .

One could picture the great spiritual tree of life , the main trunk of the trancendental tree is Radha Krishna . The predominant and main branches are Balarama and His close associates , and the Asta sakhis , Radharani’s main friends , long with their main associates .  Each branch naturally has many other branches and many more sub branches and countless smaller branches that stem from them .  There are many twig like branches, and within all these structures, there are incalculable leaves and sweet flowers .

This tree is of  unimaginable size, and its widths are ever expanding . Every single spiritual personality who make up this tree , are one in their purposes and it could be said the emotions on many different levels are interlinked , such is the glory and power of the all attractive couple Radha Krishna who are forever expanding Their loving affairs in multitudes of ways forever fresh , forever new , forever enthusistic,  such is the nature of eternal youth .

Have you ever been outside the school gates of 14 year old girls and boys , are the playgrounds of the children or youth ever silent ? The reflections of this tree are seen in the material world,  like a flash of lightning . Time moves on fast here in this world but is conspicuous by its absence in Goloka .

AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada would give the example of a green parrot entering a green tree the oneness and spiritual varigatedness,  he also said everything in the spiritual world is made of the same spiritual consciousness “Cintamani ” spiritual bliss unlimitedly expanding .

Guru Tattva..

A man is lost , he is looking for a particular shop , he wants to purchase a specific product to do a specific job he has some ideas of how to do the task in hand .
Another man takes him by the hand and brings him to the shop , but he does not know how the shop is laid out .
Another man from the shop guides to to the specific counter and runs through all the options .
Finally, another man comes. He is an expert in the work that our original searcher wanted to carry out. That expert puts him straight on all matters and thus he gets to where he wanted to be and got expert advice , with the help of many , but ultimately was guided to the best of experts in his feild.
It could have been by good fortune our original man met the expert walking on the street. And the expert would have guided him to the shop to the counter and proceeded to tell him the best way to go about his task , in that case , nobody else would have been needed .

GURU SADHU AND SASTRA THREE IN ONE .

“Although in crude form, we find in Gnosticism what was lacking in the centuries that followed: a belief in the efficacy of individual revelation and individual knowledge. This belief was rooted in the proud feeling of man’s affinity with the gods, subject to no human law, and so overmastering that it might even subdue the gods by the sheer power of Gnosis… In Gnosticism we see man’s unconscious psychology in full flower, almost perverse in its luxuriance; it contained the very thing that most strongly resisted the regula fidei, that Promethean and creative spirit which will bow only to the individual soul and to no collective ruling.” CARL JUNG

What is the Vedic view on the above statement by Jung .

The checks and balances of what  the Vedic systems call Guru , Sadhu, and  Sastra is a sure and steady approach to Divinity.

When these three are seen to align, then one can be sure at least a proper understanding of the methods of approaching Divinity and a correct philosophical understanding is being arrived at  .  This initial and preliminary path, if approached carefully and if its  well  practised , can bring the candidate to further and deeper understanding , especially those of the Gaudia acaryas and their  realisations , esoteric realisations , and writings , that bring entrance  into Vrndavana Dharma itself .

Depending on ones spiritual desires that are cultivated by the association of advanced practitioners, determine how one’s natural attraction to Divinity is developed or revived . So accordingly, different realisations of Divinity and relationships occur . All absolutes are reconciled in the absolute , and the mature scholars and devotees know these truths well .

The fragile position of an individual particle of consciousness that has been  overwhelmed by material energies ,  becomes vulnerable and overwhelmed by the illusory energies , but Divinity makes  perfect arrangements for  rescue . This is carried out via the Divinely inspired literatures ,  both Sruti and Smriti , the Spiritual master who has deeply entered the spiritual realms , either Diksa or Siksa  , as well as other Sadhus and saints , who assist with checks and balance.

The combination of an  individuals’ sincerity , along with spiritual teaches or Gurus as well as  an  intelligent discrimination of the very broad ranging theological texts  that serve specific purposes for different people at certain times due to  places or circumstances are required to understand Divinity.

Although  individual sincerity is important, it’s also important to realise we are not the only sincere person . Many others have traversed the path of truth and thus need to understand the symptoms of those  who are  on these  paths .  Those who are mature and perfecting  the journey also understand the essence of what theologies have to offer , along with many  peripherals paths  chalked out for the sake of humanity.

So, not alone , but with others, we understand Divinity and serve Him .

Śrī Brahma-saṁhitā 5.40

yasya prabhā prabhavato jagad-aṇḍa-koṭi-
koṭiṣv aśeṣa-vasudhādi vibhūti-bhinnam
tad brahma niṣkalam anantam aśeṣa-bhūtaṁ
govindam ādi-puruṣaṁ tam ahaṁ bhajāmi

Translation

I worship Govinda, the primeval Lord, whose effulgence is the source of the nondifferentiated Brahman mentioned in the Upaniṣads, being differentiated from the infinity of glories of the mundane universe appears as the indivisible, infinite, limitless, truth.

The individual particle of consciousness can either be situated in the spiritual realms the effulgence of Divinity or in the material universes.

Whether one is situated in the ” divine light ” ot the material universes they are in one sense synonymous , but same time a transformational process has been inacted by Divinity.

The material universes are situated by the transformed ” divine light ” , earth ,water fire etc , as well as all the elements , are  the transformations and combined atoms containing negative and positive charges . The mysterious light frequency, as well as electromagnetic energies  of all kinds and the extraordinary energies within atoms, are little understood . The neurological energies driving mind and intelligence are of similar charges , the Vedas indicates by the above verse that God’s Divine energies can easily transform,  so although we are experiencing matter with its endless possibilities , the whole phenomena is based and situated on the Brahman.

Interesting it is , in the world of quantum physics, that the energies of consciousness and matter are interrelated , we are living as the Vedas confirms in a responsive universe.

Speciation ?  It has a universal and untraceable history going  back to time immemorial .

The Darwinions greatly limit themselves by practically turning a blind eye to the physicists and chemists , and  they overplay the importance of biology , thinking that its solely biological systems and a vaguely explained mutational process that  alone is how speciation took place . But in the great scheme of things, many many members of the scientific community today  readily accept multidimensional space time as well as cyclic universal events that are self perpetual  in ways beyond their comprehension,  accompanying these perpetual events the Vedas say , is  speciation , where something left off , it begins again and not by random and unguided processes .

With that in mind, the Vedas confirms a link between speciation and a responsive universe that is offering many many consciousness experiences . Inconceivable engineering and a self selection process is laid out within the 2nd and 3rd Cantos of the Bhagavatam.

Living beings who inhabit the various bodies within the multidimensional areas of the universe of which are contained fourteen divisions the facilities of these engineered bodies have been in existence since time immemorial and the living beings are in constant flux accepting different bodies within different the different species and universal regions. All have  been in existence since time immemorial . The Vedas indicate that according to each individual being’s mental state and  conscious actions , caused by  their interactions within matter , determine the next machine like body . All such affairs are connected to an automated process of bodily production . One could say a super subjective artificial intelligence system is operated , thus, it’s  inconceivable but also conceivable , especially in a modern Ai world.

The material energies are according to the Bhagavad Gita ,  endlessly mutable , and as such the ethereal mind  is free to wonder in uncalculable  ways , the circumstances behind every living being gives us an indication of previous wonderings and activities. Each being is  having an individual experience,  very real to them , and is  developing  and tasting some of the  unlimited variables of inner consciousness and its  experience in a particular body .  Thus , nothing is fixed in the mental ethereal planes , and accordingly  , speciation changes and adapts as the material energies award multitudes of bodies that are forever  responsive to ever changing mental  circumstances that are also fluctuating from an elevated states to more degraded states .As an engineer can automatically adapt a set designs to suit a slightly different purpose, one can say many variables or extensions or changes to the engineering of the body are always and easily possible , thus to the Darwinian we say , same engineer,  different engineering.  For instance, you can turn your garage into a first-class mini theatre or a cinema   and a wheel can be used in manh many ways . So the Vedic explanation for speciation, is  same engineer,  different engineering , along with flexibility , responding to a consciousness that continually becomes entrapped in universal cyclic cycles .
