The Srimad Bhagavatam explains the ethereal plane, where there is a need matter expands , the material universes expand due to the desire of the participants within it , the conscious beings who circulate within the cyclic cycles of the responsive universe.
Here are some scientists of the past who thought this way , and in todays world many still do , but the Darwinians and the followers of scientific materialism are still wondering in the electro magnetism of the atomic world and remain clueless of its origins.
Recently, Roger Penrose said he thought there was evidence of the previous universe in the current one . That may be , its the same atoms being reformed and the same particles of consciousness who are entrapped within matter due to desire , the responsive universe does not give anyone up , it’s by the power of an ethereal mind that determine whether to transport the living beings out of matter to the higher planes or back inside it again . Beyond all the ethereal planes lies the spiritual energies where spiritual antimatter particles form different sorts of bodies , they are not subjected to any material laws of nature of any kind throughout the universes
The concept of “ethereal particles” or an “aether” as the underlying substrate of matter was popular in the late 19th-century vortex theory of atoms, supported by researchers like Lord Kelvin (William Thomson), J.J. Thomson, and Joseph Larmor. They proposed that atoms were vortex rings or strains in the ether, rather than hard, indivisible billiard balls. Khan Academy +4
- Lord Kelvin (William Thomson): Proposed the “vortex atom” theory, suggesting that atoms are tiny, knotted vortices in an all-pervading ether, treating them as structural entities within that medium.
- J.J. Thomson: Early in his career, he explored the vortex atom theory before his discovery of the electron in 1897 shifted the model to subatomic particles.
- Joseph Larmor: Developed a model where atoms and electrons were essentially centers of strain or electrical charges within the ether.
- Sir Oliver Lodge: A strong proponent of the luminiferous ether who viewed matter as being composed of structured, electrically charged particles derived from the ether itself.

These views were mostly replaced in the early 20th century by the nuclear model of the atom
More on this soon directly from the Bhagavatam.
