God has many , many forms and incarnations some of these are  facilitating the circumstances that the living beings are desirous to experience . We should know everyone is acting according to their own God given free , and along with that free will comes determinism . In this way, we can say some of the incarnations are functional forms , functionality means arranging for this huge universal machine , and the responsive universe , along with all its various laws both within matter and in the subtle reactionary realm . We wanted to come to the material atmospheres . Man proposes God disposes. Of course, Krishna  is the Supreme Personality of Godhead from whom all other incarnations emanate from . His glorious Lila pleasure pastimes are full of bliss and loving exchanges. Those who want to have a direct relationship with God may do so , this original form is not  serving any functionalities , rather like a close family member spontaneous love spontaneously flows between Krishna and his natural friends , family and lovers . God is described in the Vedas as being complete, more complete, and most complete, and this is reflected  in the way He reciprocates with His devotees . In Vrndavana, Krishna displays His most complete original form along with Srimati Radharani and His family and various friends.  Srimati Radharani is the original Supreme Goddess of Fortune who  expands  Herself and exhibits unlimited blissful pastimes for the pleasure of Krishna, who also reciprocates accordingly.
The Srimad Bhagavatam and the Caitanya Caratamrita explain all these trancendental events . Both of these works have been translated and commented on by Srila AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada and are available to read in English as well as other Gaudia Vaisnava acaryas..

In terms of the functional God .

Schrödinger, the famous physicist, thought there was only one mind ……much akin to Sankaracarya and the impersonal school.

In one sence its a fact that Annirudha , the functional portion of Visnu , is the total material mind . The individual living beings are covered by many varieties of energies, including a mind that stems from Anirudha , the functional form of Visnu . They  utilise portions of His minds energies for their exhibition of an artificial independence in the material world.  However, the original pure spiritual mind has its spiritual independence and individual capacities without a  material covering.  Ultimately, we should know the meaning of the Vedic expression “simultaneously and inconceivably one and difference from God” It is exhibited  beautifully in a spiritual realm , but it is also exhibited with the material universes,  the material world is Ultimately ” Spiritual ” because its another of God’s eternal energies,  matter is never destroyed but transformed.
Srila Jiva Goswami says we should not overstate the oneness or the difference in any of the realms, both the spiritual or material. Conditioned natures that are exhibited in this world are far, far greater, and covering of knowledge, and one can not experience spiritual freedoms, pe say  . Our full potential is suppressed by our own selfish attractions to an illusory energy.
