Stephen Hawkins thought towards the end of his life that the universe just popped out of some  quantum unspecified field, so perhaps this consciousness is of a similar nature .
Universes and consciousness are just popping out of anywhere, but of course, not God , say the atheistic Darwinian or follower of scientific materialism.
