When it comes to understanding Krishna consciousness in its depths, that will depend on our Sadhu sanga and Sastra Sanga each dependent on each other , without Sadhu sanga there cannot be Sastra sanga, without Sastra sanga there cannot be discernment in Sadhu sanga.
The following verses indicate the importance of pure association and how one benefits.
Mahāprabhu told just one moments association with a pure devotee is highly beneficial, and warned against association of materialistic calculating people
The verse Tasmad Gurum prapadyeta .11.3.21.Srimad Bhagavatam. Tells of those who have realised the proper conclusions of the scriptures.

There are 1st class 2nd class and 3rd class devotees , the verses refer to first class and at least well progressed 2nd class devotees

satāṁ prasaṅgān mama vīrya-saṁvido
bhavanti hṛt-karṇa-rasāyanāḥ kathāḥ
taj-joṣaṇād āśv apavarga-vartmani
śraddhā ratir bhaktir anukramiṣyati
Synonyms
satām — of pure devotees; prasaṅgāt — through the association; mama — My; vīrya — wonderful activities; saṁvidaḥ — by discussion of; bhavanti — become; hṛt — to the heart; karṇa — to the ear; rasa-ayanāḥ — pleasing; kathāḥ — the stories; tat — of that; joṣaṇāt — by cultivation; āśu — quickly; apavarga — of liberation; vartmani — on the path; śraddhā — firm faith; ratiḥ — attraction; bhaktiḥ — devotion; anukramiṣyati — will follow in order.
Translation
In the association of pure devotees, discussion of the pastimes and activities of the Supreme Personality of Godhead is very pleasing and satisfying to the ear and the heart. By cultivating such knowledge one gradually becomes advanced on the path of liberation, and thereafter he is freed, and his attraction becomes fixed. Then real devotion and devotional service begin.
1.2.16
śuśrūṣoḥ śraddadhānasya
vāsudeva-kathā-ruciḥ
syān mahat-sevayā viprāḥ
puṇya-tīrtha-niṣevaṇāt
Synonyms
śuśrūṣoḥ — one who is engaged in hearing; śraddadhānasya — with care and attention; vāsudeva — in respect to Vāsudeva; kathā — the message; ruciḥ — affinity; syāt — is made possible; mahat-sevayā — by service rendered to pure devotees; viprāḥ — O twice-born; puṇya-tīrtha — those who are cleansed of all vice; niṣevaṇāt — by service.
Translation
O twice-born sages, by serving those devotees who are completely freed from all vice, great service is done. By such service, one gains affinity for hearing the messages of Vāsudeva.
We should understand that Sri Guru comes as both Siksa and Diksa and also to one who is purified by association and services. The Sastra sanga of the previous acaryas can bestow great blessings .
