The ponds  and great lakes

In India, as in other countries, there are many wells and small ponds .
The system of village folk is  such that they use a particular pond for different purposes . Some for drinking , some for washing clothes , some to bath in . Each pond is allocated for various reasons for a set of purposes .
A great lake, however, can simultaneously serve all purposes of all  ponds because of the lakes immense size, which means the purity is always maintained whatever is carried out .
Similarly the Vedas itself  is like a great lake, and the Vedas serves many purposes for different classes of persons . Some persons are very absorbed in enjoying matter , some less so , and some on the verge of trancendental affairs, others deeply absorbed.
The person who understands the real purposes of the Vedas in practical ways and can apply them accordingly knowing how to guide different people in their needs for a  gradual progression in spiritual consciousness is compared to  a person who applies Vedic knowledge  correctly . Such broadminded persons full of knowledge of the Vedas supercede those who are unnecessarily fixated on one particular aspect without properly understanding its real purpose , which is social and spiritual mobility , such persons are attached to ponds and can’t access the” Vedic lakes “
