AC Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada wanted to create an intelligent class of men and women, one of his main purposes of ISKCON , both Brahminical men and learned Vedic Vipras in particular fields . Prabhupada clearly says in his purports to teach krishna consciousness through science, the arts , through economics, political affairs, etc etc , he had in mind both cor spiritual goals and the peripherals that are essential in society that lead to the cor . The conversations that Sri Caitanya Mahāprabhu had with Ramananda Raya makes all these things clear as do the trancendental activites of the Goswami’s who wanted to help all people understand religious principles and transcendence. In broad Vedic cultures whatever the religious tendency, even meat eating and certain intoxication under conditions are given allowance , as are the many types of religions , as Krishna makes clear in Bhagavad Gita , in discussions of the different types of faith of different types of persons . Eventually ISKCON will have to deeply research all aspects of the Vedas to bring its contents to the modern world , with time place and circumstances applications , many scholars are needed and the setting up of ” think tanks ” setting Vedic visionary recommendation giving advice for governance and compliance of future societies
ISKCON is still in its beginning stages , Srila Prabhupada was quite serious, as was Srila Bhaktisiddanta and Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur in introducing and establishing principles of Varna Ashram , meaning establishing the real intelligentsia to be able to influence the directions that society heads in , every thing else automatically flows perfectly from there . .
