Perhaps one could say the European Union is a hodge podge of liberalism .
Generally overly liberal societies come about in response to overly suppressed ones .
The Vedic cultures neither suppress or encourage one to blindly follow the mind and senses in a journey of life that will ultimately lead to old age disease and death.
Vedic culture encourages us to explore and understand body , mind , matter , time, and consciousness in philisophical pursuits through various studies and different practices .
That leads to healthy minds , healthy bodies, tollerance, and understanding.
Obviously, the Vedas indicate, we all come from different places and different families as well as different circumstances, but even further than that , we come from our previous experiences of previous lives …..so its complicated and unlimitedly entangleing.
So instead of being so overly hung up about one life, one should see life as a continued journey with endless possibilities, and the very people who consider themselves liberal and free could well be some of the most entangled and chained persons there are , equally those who overly repress themselves in the name of religion or spend their time condemning others are chained and not free.. .
