In Vedic Culures, many different types of Gurus are available, but in absolute truth, all Gurus are aligning , be they expert in geopolitical matters , or within economics , or social sciences , or within general sciences , or sociopolitical affairs , its very clear in the Vedas every thing is connected to Divinity. Nothing is outside , but the 18 puranas tell us some people are predominantly in goodness, some passion and some ignorant and the therapeutic Vedas along with its expert teachers know how applications work to benefit one and all .
Vedic culture always means having specific teachers, or one could say different types of Gurus, defined loosely as Diksa and Siksa Gurus for spiritual realisation development, the most essential knowledge . But also you may consult other Brahminical persons or learned Vipras , or genuinely learned , wise , balanced, and mature scholars in various fields , but who are always independent.
You could have specific scientific Gurus.
You could have specific geopolitical Gurus.
Or Gurus, who have mastered various arts or aspects of philosophies of all kinds, for instance .
Thus the word guru was used very broadly in Vedic Culures and each guru had different purposes, but because absolute truth can be applied and understood in multitudes of ways , you will find alignment as well as diversity in all the Gurus.
